A delegate from SOI Asia, comprising Noriatsu Kudo (Keio University), Achmad Husni Thamrin (WIDE Project), and Marcos Sadao Maekawa (APNIC Foundation), visited BUET on 27th January 2026. The delegate met with BUET Vice-Chancellor Dr. A. B. M. Badruzzaman to invite him to the SOI Asia 30th Anniversary Ceremony, to be held at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in September 2026. It was a special moment to learn that Dr. Badruzzaman authored the original proposal for the first SOI Asia antenna installed at BUET back in 2004.

The delegation was welcomed by the director of the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT) Prof. Hossen Asiful Mustafa, PhD, Prof. Md. Saiful Islam, and colleagues, and shared updates on the APIE, Inxignia, EBA, and CBR-Seed. Around 10 BUET students joined the session as well.

We look forward to deepening this collaboration — from student mobility to future CBR initiatives and potential APIE Camps.
